HI all

I have been reading all the threads about this card, and I didnt want to add any confusion as they are all getting long winded now.:o

My question is this;

Who is buying 1 on the 23rd and how quick are you going to post your results?

I am very interested in purchasing one but wanting to see benchmarks before deciding?

Thanks

I'll get one reviews pending of course. If it turns out to be an 11 inch turd im sure this 2900 can hold me over till r700 :)

Considering i have just got a 3870, i'm hoping that these X2's are as good as 2 3870's so i don't have to swap ;)

At the prices they seem to be coming down to, i wouldn't mind purchasing a second

So I take it we are all going to wait for benchmarks !!

Seems a shame that no one on here is going to buy one and let everyone know how really good/ bad it is ;)

They won't be available till the reviews hit at around 2pm or whatever time. Only takes 10- mins or so gawking through reviews so people will very likely have it the next day.

So they wont be available in shops at 0900 then !!!! Blimey didnt realise how big a deal they make out of it :p

Does anyone at OcUK know what time they will be released on Wednesday? or wont they tell because of NDA?

Its this nda crap thats getting everyone annoyed, everyone knows about the card and its specs etc, but the way nda's work ati seem to not acknowledge its existence untill the nda lifts. Come wednesday we just have to wait and see.

Im getting one the moment I see it for sale. I'll post a review up here for you guys if you want. although I have never reviewed a component nor tested any of the latest hardware so it will all be new for me.

I'm gonna get one at the end of february , I can most probably say definitely too. The single slot is a major advantage over crossfire 3870s. Although, I will be trying out 2900 crossfire in about 2 weeks, a friend is also going to get a 3870X2 about a week after it comes out and has said I can use his 2900 for crossfire untill i get a 3870X2 myself if I put it up on ebay for him :D

If everything i have read is true, i'll be buying a 3870 x2 pretty soon but i'll be waiting till i have read a few reviews. It doesn't seem long ago that these forums were fulll of people dreaming of the 2900xt and saying that they are selling their 8800gtx's just to buy one. Thats nothing against ATI btw, just saying how hype can sometimes get out of control

I'm gonna wait until the 9800 GX2 is released, then I'm going to see which cards scale better.. And if it turns out 2 x 3870 X2's are faster than 2 x 9800 GX2's I'll probably get 2 of them and have a tastey QUAD GPU rig ;)

cant help but think buying one of these will be a mistake. If they are more powerful then an ultra then nvida will act and bring out the new 9800s. These are probably going to be more powerful or at least wont rely on possibly crossfrie technology. Like the sli technology has always been the downfull of the GX2s.

I think its best to save your money and put it on a 9800 or at least wait to see which is best.
