390 is hot

Are you?

He has a silent case, with foam padding. With only the supplied fans installed.

He has put a known to run warm (as meant to) GPU in there and had a, "whoa...why does the thing feel hot to the touch now" moment.

Simply filling his empty fan spaces will make the 'problem' go away.

I was commenting on all the "Check your gpu settings" when it is obviously a case fan issue which I explained same as you have.
It wasn't aimed at you, if you had read my post you would have seen that.

140's move the same air as a 120 with less noise - Then at the top end, past the 120 max air flow, it will move more air than the 120 at roughly the same noise.

(the above is comparing same fans just in two sizes, not two seperate brands)

Personally keep your current 120's and fill your 140 spaces with cheap 140's, have a play and see if I was happy with the result before doing much more. You might even get away with just one at the top rear.

I've just fitted my Gentle Typhoon AP15's and they are sooooo much better than the Corsair fans they replaced. They are sitting at 39% (800 rpm) and you cannot hear them.

I definitely recommend good quality fans. For 140mm fans i like the Thermalright TY-147 fan.
