If the 390x surpasses the titan X that doesn't stop 5 being wrong

Technically your right, but given that "Faster than the Titan-X" is also an option it disqualifies Option 5 as a two way bet.

Hoping this will be a good card, if for anything to make NV to cut the TX down so I can get another, I voted a shade faster than a 980 which for the time they've had isn't good enough, if with this time they'd worked on CF profiles more then the speed would have been acceptable, but they haven't - so it isn't. Sorry AMD you have a lot to pull out of the bag.

The Original Titan didn't drop by much after 290X so i don't see why this time would be any different.

What they might do is release the same card in 6GB form and call it the GTX 980TI, tho you probably wont be able to SLI is with a Titan-X.

I am not a fan of most of the review sites as they tend to be quite useless with highend hardware.

I agree about reviewers, i think most of them are pretty useless full stop, including TPU but they are one of the best in a bad bunch.
And they are independent from user shenanigans, tho i do wonder about their independence sometimes, i think they do depend on those hardware vendors they review for their existence.

But what else can we do?

Just out of interest have you got a link to where it says this as I cant find it.

I have just looked at the Powerpoint presentation and Investor Relations page on the AMD website and it only mentions APU and OEM solutions. No mention of retail Desktop GPU's.

There is an audio file somewhere with AMD's DR Lisa Sue saying HMB GPU in Jun, also a Video that was live at the time in the 390X thread, some slides confirming it came out of it, i will try to dig them out

As it is a bit of fun use TPU.

I will do some runs with the cards at stock in indentical PCs (RVE, 3200mhz DDR4, 5960X) for anything else anyone is curious about.
