3D MARK 06 Question.

I have two 4870 in crossfire a C2D E6600 @3.3 and i got a score of 15,128 @ 1920 X 1200 do you guys run the test at default or do you adjust to your screen res ?

And is mine a bad score ?

Always run it at default...I use to change the settings but now I don't...

Ok i have never ran this test before so i do not know what is a good score.

Everything at stock my score was P15154.

Is this a good vantage score for stock? i will try it overclocked in few weeks when i get my new cpu cooler.
I just ran my vantage benchmark with my pc all stock clocks.I scored 3dmark score P 12950 GPU score 14013 CPU score 10548.My score when i overclock the cpu to 3.6 is about 1000 higher than stock speed score. Here is the guru3d scores so you can look for a system close to yours for comparison http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=260544 here is mine with the overclock 43. John Dolan - 13983 marks - videocard unknown - gainward 4870x2 - Core 2 QX6800 @ 3.6 GHz H2O

Ok but would you say my score for stock is about right on vantage? in few weeks i will get round to doing some major overclocking.

my gpu score is 14627
my cpu score is 17397

All at stock.

lol my spec is higher than yours thats why lol, i need someone with similar system as mine to run the test at stock. I though my card was faulty which is why im doing extensive testing to make sure its up to par.

3Dmark 06 is rubbish for the latest cards, I could get about 19.8k with a 3870X2 and a Q6600 overclocked to 3.95 Ghz ( or around that I can't remember exactly). With the CPU at stock I got a lot less.

3DMark 06 is very very CPU bound. Overclocking your CPU will yield greater results than overclocking your graphics card. In terms of the top scores on 3D mark, your CPU is bottlenecking your card so the more you overclock your graphics card the more you'll be bottlenecked by the CPU.

Get your CPU to around 4Ghz and you'll see quite a large gain.

Realistically though, 3DMark 06 has had its day, it's an old benchmark that's no longer relevant to today's hardware.
