I'd say thats a little low mate

Take a look at this thread

3DMark06 Scores Table

Theres people with x1900xt's on opty's at 2.8 getting around 6500-6800

So i woulda thought you should be getting at least the same

Dont think it has anything to do with my cpu and my X1900XT is not overclocked, its at stock.

I just clocked my E6600 to 3Ghz too, and I got 6257 in 3DMark06.
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=442436

SM2.0: 2347
SM3.0: 2626
CPU: 2600

I have a Sapphire X1900XT but it shows as X1900XTX on the Orb

Edit:
I notice your cpu score is higher than mine, maybe it's because I used very slack ram timings. I'm going to do some proper o'clocking tomorrow, I was just making sure my conroe could do 3Ghz easily for now :)

Btw, my SuperPi time at 3Ghz is 16.938s (21secs at stock)

You must have overdrive enabled..

Mine does it aswell.. :)
Overdrive?
I haven't used ATi since my 9800XT, so I'm not familiar with settings. I just installed the basic drivers from CD (no control panel) and I'm using Tray Tool to control AA/AF etc.

Does that mean my card is overclocking itself? I haven't even looked at my gpu temps or clock speeds, I've been concentrating on my cpu/ram. How do I enable/disable overdrive without installing the cc thing?

3DMark Score 6900 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 2563 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 2848 Marks
CPU Score 3115 Marks

That's what I get with my E6700 at 3.6Ghz (10x360 1:1) and HIS X1900XT at 680/800. Definitely more in the card, but I don't wanna give the CPU any more until I stick it under my Vapo. :)

Better start overclocking then. 06 is extremely GPU intensive (and also very cpu intensive) Bumping up your clocks a little on the gpu can make quite a difference to your score as long as your cpu is fast enough.

BTW am scoring 6.3k with a X2 3800+ @ 2.6ghz / X1900XT @ 675/1620

Might bump it up to at least XTX speeds, my zalman cooler is diong a great job on it, so it wouldnt harm.

What does this mean...

Graphics Processor Status:
Requested - 621MHz
Current VPU Clock - 500MHz

Graphics Memory Status:
Requested - 720MHz
Current Memory Clock - 594MHz

defaultx1900xt.jpg

I take it its running my XT at 500/594MHz? arent X1900XTs supposed to run at 625/1450MHz ?

Edit:

I think I see it now, its running core at 621MHz(shouldnt this be 625?) and Mem at 720MHz x 2 = 1440MHz? (should be 1450MHz?)

But why does it say current vpu clock and mem clock? I'm confused?

I also cant seem to apply overclocks to the card? when i hit apply they go back down to default levels?

When it detects a 3D app running it boost the clocks up to the 'requested' numbers instead, so 621/720. It runs slower clock speeds when there's nothing 3D running.

Time to get overclocking.

Aaaaah thats what I was begining to suspect.. thanks mate. But how can I get the clocks to hold? they reset when I hit apply?

It says you have requested a new core/mem change do you want to apply, and when i click yes, it still says 621/720.

If I change and click apply it goes back down to 621/720.

Hold on that seems to have worked. Although when I hit apply it drops it to 648/774MHz

Lol thanks though looks good. :p

im sure the new 3d06 favored amd duel core chips and nvidia systems. I got 6400 with my system and loads of stsyems should beat mine.

Half Life 2 just crashed with those settings, gonna lower them a bit. I do have my fan on low though on the zalman vf900-cu.
