i Just ran 3DMark6 on my machine and was devestated by the resault, if you look at my specs what would you guess? i've never used it before but i was given 11646 3DMarks... the average score is supposedly 15700... however it tells me that the highest score on a "similar setup" is runing half the ram i am and is .3 Ghz slower clock speed, does this mean that the EAH4850 is really really bad?

are your drivers all up to date, and are they on the performance setting?

Also, 3dm06 doesn't like the new ati cards, try running vantage and comparing it then.

I do think 3DMark is an ok benchmark, but what really matters is how the Card performs in games, if it performs exceptionally well in the PC games you play; but poorly in 3DMark, then I wouldn't really be bothered at all.

i know and all games work fine im just dissapointed :( also i havnt installed drivers 9.1 as today im going to reinstall vista to go from 32 bit to 64 as i dont currently get all my ram! also can someone provide a loink to vantage? (not quite sure what it is :P) and i think ive got the card on the highest settings it can comfortably do!

3dmark vantage... the one after '06

also another question, are the processor tests meant to be REALLY slow, i had about 1fps for almost the entire test! wheras in graphics teests 3 and 4 i reached 76 frequently

cant you just print screen and edit it in photoshop so it says 1219939 points? so you actually feel very good about it? why would you care about some stupid benchmark when your games run fine?

does it matter what score it gives you? so long as all your games run fine then whats the problem?

The thing is though he hasnt actually mentioned whether his games do run fine

I do quite like running 3DMark06 every so often, especially when tweaking overclocking settings etc just to see what sort of benefits they give.

Remember running 3DMark01 many many times trying to get above 230fps on the dragon section :D
