Could anyone help me understand or point me in the right direction as to why I am getting a much lower score for Fire Strike with someone who has almost an identical setup to me?

My setup (My Results)
Intel Core i7-2600K Processor @ 4.8 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. MAXIMUS V GENE
64-bit Windows 8.1 (6.3.9600)

Their Setup (Their Results)
Intel Core i7-2600K Processor @ 4.5 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
MSI Z77 MPower (MS-7751)
64-bit Windows 7 (6.1.7601)

The only thing I can see putting him ahead is their graphics score.

Thank You

is your memory running dual channel mode? check in cpu-z memory tab

only thing that stands ut for me is the memory 3 sticks 12gb and your physics score is 1000points lower at the same cpu oc

could try with just two sticks of ram 8gb see if physics score improves

His graphics score is way too high for a single card. The current record on HWbot is 6.6k graphics and that's clocked at 1140/1200.

He's probably using 2 cards and 3DMark has mucked up.

I'm currently running 2 * 4,096 MB Avexir in Dual Channel mode. The other guy is running 3 ram sticks

Do you know what his GPU is clocked at?

It looks stock from the description it is giving me.

This could be the answer tbh. I just noticed that in 3D mark states I have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580(1x) whilst he has NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580(0x).

Last I checked it's impossible to have 0 times any cards

Edit:

Just had a look at people who were running 1 * 580 GTX with a 2600k and the results are around the 5'000 mark. This looks more like it. Will need to overclock my 580 past 900 Mhz to get into the 5'000+ score by the looks of it.
