There's a 3d modelling chap on DC5 forums spending his spare time modelling the car.

He said the wheels are hardest so started with them.

^ That's what he started out with.

^ Work in progress on the body panels.

 Can't wait till he's finished but it'll be a couple of months at least I guess.

Nuff skillz?

That's fantastic, the render of the wheels is superb - wonder how long it took to render that model :)

Awesome, looks like he's doing a good job!
Id love to be able to do that kindof thing.

Hes the guy who used to work at Sega i think, also did work on the legend that is Sega Rally :D

Serious skills there along with some bloody good software

His user name is Sumimasen. He's trained in lightwave but this is done using Modo.

Lives in Wiltshire if that helps.

Been following this on Honda Revs :) I dabbled in 3d modelling on and off last year, but I had my laptop stolen which had my models on it, and haven't had the motivation to start up again yet.

I was 3/4 of the way through a Mitsubishi L200's body shell at the time (first thing I tried to model at all)

Sorry to interrupt so late but I was dredging the forums a bit for an old post and stumbled into this one out of curiosity. And I'll happily say that's really nice. Lordy!

I've been teaching myself the last six years and finally purchased 3d Studio Max in March last year with subscription to update, so I think I can fairly safely say that guy there is very very VERY good whatever program he has used.

I don't consider myself to be in that league as I've just been mucking about creating game models (for RFactor bla bla), but I do have a thing about concept work too.

I have so much admiration for 3D modellers. They must have the patience of saints to achieve that sort of thing. Ive tried my hand at it, a few solid blocks and im done.. just cant keep going. Amazing work!
