3D Printer for my son....... HELP!!!

Hello,

Help....... My son has said he wants a 3D printer for christmas, so I have been seen there are quite a few for under the £200 mark, however which one do would recommend? He and I have never used one before so please can you advise me on a decent one?

Just been looking and I have seen that some people are painting the models, is this possible as well on one in my price point?

What does he want to print, miniatures or practical items?

If miniatures look at the elegoo mars range, if the later the ender 3 series is a good start provided you go in eyes open knowing it will take some fettling out by of the box. Plenty of information out there for them though does make it easier though.
