3dmark 06 issue

Hi guys,

Just ran 3d mark for the first time on my system:

q6600 (stock)
4gb 2x2g Twinx2 Corsair 6400
500gb WD AAKS
8800Gt

The final score was 11852. However, when it got to the cpu section of the test, i was getting like 1-2 fps? This an issue with the software or my cpu?

It's normal to get 1-2fps, CPUs aren't anywhere near as fast as GPUs at rendering graphics.

Your score isn't bad, especially if you're on Vista, but you could probably gain quite a lot from clocking the Q6600.

Thanks for the reply. Thought I had a prob there for a moment. Ive been trying to overclock but just running a few tests at stock to see what difference it makes.

That bench mark is what I get on stock. download Rivatuner and overclock the GPU. 700/1750/2000 would do it but keep an eye on GPU temps. If you then overclock the CPU to around 3.2 (easy) you will get around 14000+.

Exactly what im doing now. Just trying to get the damn thing stable at 3.2
