3Dmark06 CPU part

i got a 3700 @ stock (coz i m doing a review)

and i only got around 900, during the test i was constantly getting 0FPS lol.

Why is this? my CPU not good enuff? or is 3dMark06 just being a tough benchmark?

06 is extremely biased towards dual core

dont sweat it mate, i got any opty @ 2.8 and i get constant 1fps so its all good hehe

06 is indeed very biased towards dual core. My 3.4Ghz Opteron gets owned by dual cores running at over 1Ghz less than it.

so no matter how i overclock my CPU i cant get better ?

, oh well. Is this a good result?

hehe. just did a quick search on the orb for cpu scores. and the top result is 3824 points with 2 dual core opterons (275's) so that's 4 cpus.

constant 1fps. me thinks some one is exaggerating somewhat there. My opty 170 at 2.8ghz gets me pretty much 0fps most of the time. 2200ish cpu score

so is the test actully designed to run smootly lol, mite have to wait 10 years b4 something comes out that can run it with more than 10fps

This thread has cheared me up a little, i thought there was something odd when i was gettin 2-3fps with my P4 930D and a score of around 1500CPU marks. but looking at quicker single cores getting less then tis all good

I only get 959 with my veince @ 2.5ghz

PCR, 2-3 would be about 4k CPU score so someones fibbing

I would think that's about right

My rig maxed out at 1151 CPU marks and that was running unstable @ 2.916Ghz :eek:

1895 @ 2.55Ghz dual core.

The tests just keep getting harder on CPUs (in terms of smoothness/FPS). Futuremarks doesn't play nice here: instead of making the CPU scenes easier to render, they keep pick something a modern video card can just about render smoothly (say 30fps), and ask the CPU to do it. As the gaps between GFX card and CPU widens, those tests will just remain like slideshows...

Even the 2nd CPU test in 3D Marks03 (Troll's lair) is barely smooth on my Opteron...

Edit: On a side note, my Barton actually get 800 a pretty mild overclock o.O
Guess it doesn't care -that- much between Barton and A64.

ok on a quick rerun its not constant, but it is 1 some of the time

dont like 06 anyways

Come on! You have to admit that, apart from the CPU tests which are a necessary evil nowadays, '06 does look awsome! :cool:

I particularly like the last test, that snow and lighting are amazing :eek:

i was joking but then thought about it. really, it does look poo. If you think back to what 3dmark 03 nature test looked like and then think that mark06 is 3 years older. I dont really see it looking much better to say its 3 years. If you take mark 03 and go 3 years back to graphics in 2000, they looked nowhere near as good.
saying this unreal (1) amazed me and that was years before
