3dMark06 CPU problem

Ok i've just ran CPU-Z and found this



That's not right at all!:mad:

Anyone had anything like this? oh i also updated the bios to 1002 but it didnt change anything

So any guesses as to why a 1/3rd of the processor isnt being used?!
 
Yea that’s fine it’s called speed step, it reduces the CPU multiplier to 6 to save power etc when not in full use, I will be more than worried about the X4 Link speed of the PCI-E slot :eek:

Oh yeah speed step, forgot about that. must just be that 4x link speed throttling the gtx and thus the 3dmark score. how did i not see that the first time :eek:

ok i was being a noob and as usual most things can be put right by reading the ******* manual!

turns out i had the card in a pci-e slot that only supported 4x link speed so after putting it in the correct one it shows up correctly on cpu-z :) now to test 3dm06

edit - 11502 now :)
