3rd party PS3 Controllers

Sounds like your controller is doing similar to mine - kept pushing the D-pad whenever I used the left stick. Have you tried opening it up and checking if there is any gunk/hair or so in there pushing against the plastic film? I completely dismantled mine and it turned out the plastic contact film was pinched in one corner (you'll understand what I mean if you open it). Carefully put it back together, and it's been good as new since.

I've tried multiple times to no avail unfortunately :(

I had no problems with my ps3 controllers in the UK, when i moved over here i've gone through 2 so far. when the first one died i also had a dreamgear one, they cost me $16.00 as opposed to $60 and have outlasted 2 official controllers.

I hope the ps4 controllers are better quality.

difference?

SIXAXIS Wireless Controller (Official) - PS3 Accessories and

Dualshock3 Wireless Controller Black (Official) - PS3 Accessories

The dual shock has rumble and the six axis doesn't. The ds3 is heavier as a result and the sticks are a little firmer/more resistant.

On launch the dual shock wasn't available as combining rumble with motion sensitivity was problematic. Sony worked it out and then released the ds3.
