looking at getting a 3TB drive and another later to go with my 2TB drive and SSD already in the case, looks like the cheapest is the 7200RPM seagate.

Ideally i want a non noisy one, being 7200 and only being used for films whats this like noise wise?

also what would you guys pay for a 3TB drive? i only really want to pay at most £120, otherwise i will just get a 2TB one

For HTPC storage I would get a 5400 "green" drive. It will be quieter and use less power. The only problem is the crazy high prices of drives at the moment and it doesn't look they are going to come down anytime soon.

ive seen the samsung f4 at a reasonable price lately,i have two and they are silent, idk how the modern seagates are but the older ones sound like a box of nails

Decided to get a WD caviar green, went for a manufacturer refurbished as it was under 90,risky but I've never had a problem with manufacturer refurbished, and if hdds work for a month they go for years.. IMO

Now have almost every make of Hdd in it! Crucial, samsung, seagate and WD
