3tb? how to...

Hi

I have a 3tb sata 3 hard drive and a gigabyte x58 ud7 motherboard..

Im trying to instal win 7 x64 but its seeing the drive as 2 partitions

1 2.3tb
1 740gb

I have tried installing as ide and also RAID but both times it sees as this.

What do i have to do to install windows as 1 partition 3tb?

You need a UEFI BIOS to boot from a volume larger than 2.xTB.

The real question is why on earth you would want to.

Windows, 50-100gb partition, that way, windows get's a virus, windows gets corrupted, windows starts acting funky or slows down, or you upgrade to windows 8.

Back up anything you need on the 100gb partition and reinstall windows on a freshly wiped partition rather than a messy repair install or install over the top, etc, etc.

I'd never in a million years ever install windows on a 3tb drive and not partition it off for easy maintenance of the windows partition.
