That is a good point. ESXi and some beefy servers probably will render this thread redundant.

Generally the same here as well - we have 4 hour Fault to Fix with HP but usually replace after 3yrs.

Most of my kit just hit 6 years with no budget next year for replacment

If these servers are business critical then a single server failing taking the service offline is probably a bigger issue than how long the hardware refresh cycle is.

If 1 server failing takes out your AD then somebody needs to have a very serious look at the design of the infrastructure...
