Do socket 939 boards have problems with running memory at cas2? I have 4 sticks of Corsair CMX1024-3200C2 but I get bluescreens when I try to boot into windows at cas2, memory voltage is 2.75 and timings are 3-3-3-8 @ DDR400.

Used to run my BH-5 at CAS2 on a Asrock 939 so should be fine. Try upping your memory voltage to 2.8-2.85, using 4 sticks at CAS2 may be too much stress on the memory controller or the memory itself.

I know socket 939 won't run with 4 sticks if the memory is overclocked more than a few MHz. I think I could run about 270mhz with 2 sticks and about 211 with 4 sticks if thats any help. I tried with a few different sets aswell.

I know it's always best to have 2 sticks rather than 4 but I'm surprised it's only stable at 333mhz. Have you checked what timings are recommended for the memory @400mhz and the volts it's rated at? Check packaging or google for the info.

Yep checked timings, when setting it to the recommended timings I either bsod before windows starts or after it has started.

My board is an Asus A8N-SLi Premium.

Depends on which 939 chip set you are using....

The old nf4's had all sorts of problems using 4 sticks, but the last ati boards (crdx 200's and the other crossfireboard) that could do cas 1.5 had some magic way of doing 4 sticks at cas 2 400mhz

939 never worked well with 4 sticks as it stressed the memory controller on the CPU.

I had 2x1Gb running at cl2-3-2-5 CR1 DDR400, OCZ platinum
