4 Missing drivers in device manager ?

Thanks very much guys, after your help I eventually this morning managed to get it down to just one missing driver and that was this one >>>>

@ nightmare99, I know you mentioned "Simple coms controller with be the Intel ME drivers under utilities on the driver download page".

Well turns out you were right, not that I am complaining, but if you would have said it was under the MEI folder on the asus disk and then when you open that and start the file up its called intel management engine components, then I would have found it in 2 secs, LOL, but I guess thats the way it goes, you learn by your mistakes, I mean I learn, lol. (thats on the asus disk that comes with the motherboard, but on the asus website its actually at present called "Intel(R) Management Engine Interface", they sure like to try and confuse people, lol.

What a nightmare asus boards are for the drivers man, that screwed my head up, lol.

Now I'm scared to even update my drivers now, LOL.

Anyways, what exactly does the Intel Management Engine components driver or whatever it is actually do thats caused all this fuss ?

I have to say, I am glad that I have got this thread bookmarked now for when I next install windows, lol.

by the way, just after another clean install of windows (dont ask why, lol), and I should add that the INTEL MEI Intel(R) Management Engine Interface driver comes under the "CHIPSET" section in the asus website driver webpage, it might help people looking for it like I was and I was again until now :) ;)

(wow, no wonder I didnt buy another Asus board until now, absolute nightmare finding and instaling all the drivers, I can remember from the last asus board I had years ago and I said "never again", lol, but here I am).

This time I have made sure to zip up the complete driver collection required so that the next time I install windows at least I have a driver even if it may be a bit older, lol. Nightmare. :( But hey ho, thats the way it goes.

This post was meant to be an edit and added to last post, dunno what I done there, sorry.

This is what I do before a fresh install.

Go to chipset maker's website, get latest..

ethernet
(optional) wireless
chipset
graphics
sound

I only use the motherboard manufacturer's site if it's something funky like an extra SATA controller or USB3 drivers that Windows doesn't have.

Yea mate, Ive got them all saved and backed up onto two hard drives now so that next time even though they may be old drivers they will still work. lol. ;)

Asus still seem to be a nightmare for this though, as I mentioned before, years n years ago I had an Asus board and it was same thing, LOADS of drivers, was a real pain in the neck.

For a company of that scale, they should have and auto update feature were it installs all the latest drivers for the things you want it to, if asus does have that option, can someone show me it please as all I can find is the page that has the latest drivers you need to download yourself etc.

Ive had a few different manufacturers of motherboards in my time with pc's and I have to honestly say that Asus have to be the worst for this type of thing unless I am missing something ???? ;)

Can't say I've ever had this problem.

I only use Gigabyte and Asus motherboards, I've done multiple builds with both. The only company I loathe to format are Sony, because of their insane hotkey buttons on their laptops.
