Am I correct in thinking that all I need for 4 monitors is two PCI-E cards in a SLI board. They dont have to be the same or even SLI capable cards?

Cheers Jack

AFAIK true SLI means you can only run one monitor, you just need to get em installed, preferrably the same manufacturer Nvidia or ATi

I personally think that as long as they are the same core of card (and you do NOT enable SLI / crossfire) then four TFT's can be used

you may be able to do it with different generations but I personally wouldnt risk it , let alone with different manufacturers. If its a PCI card, I have heard it done, but they of course usually only have one output (either vga or dvi) not both

Why not just get a normal card in pci-e.. Then buy an older pci card (or 2) and use the extra ports on that? Works out cheaper

Yeah, I'm running one AGP and one PCI at the moment to drive 2 TFTs and a TV with a spare output on the PCI card which would allow another monitor / TV. As long as the cards are all ATI or all NVidia then they should all appear in the appropriate control panel thingy.

That would be better as I dont own two nvidia PCI cards and looking at the price of them I might as well get two PCI-E. Ive got one nvidia PCI some where i think. If I can pick up a second hand one cheap I will go PCI-E PCI x2. If not a 6600GT and 6200 both PCI-E will do the job.

Thanks for the help.
