hi i have vista x64 and 2 gb atm , 2 x 1 gb kits , would there be any benefit of fitting 2 x 2gb so 6 gb all in , over fitting another 2 x1 gb 4 gb kit , so basically is 6 gb going to improve things over 4 gb kit

If you haven't already got it, download Rivatuner, run the memory monitor whilst you run apps. games etc., and see if it uses all of the 4 gig. If it does, then you may see some benefit by adding extra memory.

And why haven't you overclocked that Q6600!?! You'd see a lot of benefit by upping it to 3+ gig :)

stick to 4gig, most people dont relize the following facts...

1: more stress on the memory controller
2: They are really bad overclockers
3: They have really bad and i mean bad latencys :70+ns

you have been warned.

4x1 is also better than 2x2...
