We've all been rather civil, actually. A large dose of skepticism and a bit of sarcasm, nothing more really. You've resorted to swearing and insulting people. But you are quite correct the thread has served it's purpose, such as it is, and I wish you luck with your Walpoling activities. :)
 
Sorry, your right, Was low and below board to swear, i appologise also for that. Just some people... I'm serious about this and i have my reasons. I could only find 1 board myself and thats why i asked. tis all :)
 
if your making sooo much money, then why you asking about a quadfire setup, why not just build 7 or 8 crossfire ones instead??

I looked, No server type boards support the RADEON line, Only nvidia mainly and a few firePro ones. Find me a server unit that support multiple RADEON cards and i will be pricing it up straight away :)

And its called INVESTMENT. Everything worth investing in carries risks but as i said, You still have a load of stupidly quick hardware so wheres the problem :)
 
Unless i'm mistaken - for your uses you don't need a board that supports crossfire at all - just one with loads of PCIE lanes and enough space between them to fit four cards (with dual slot coolers). You then configure the cards individually and run miners on each of them. If you want to keep your costs down and only want your system to do mining then you could go for a 990FX board and a AM3 sempron or Athlon II CPU, however a £90 phenom II X4 955 would be a better bet imho as you can actually use this CPU to game when you aren't mining.

However, at this stage where the mining difficulty is really ramping up then I wouldn't suggest buying such an expensive setup purely for the use of bit coin mining. Have a look at these graphs.

Thats exactly what i was after mate. Thank you. Yes, but im a bit more committed to the idea of it as a currency also not to get involved and it means my mate gets this comp (2x5870's, i5 2500k, 4gb hyperx something) and i have the 4x beast (although 4 scale scales BAD!). Its win win if you get me :) Also hence why for this rig at leasty i was looking snady bridge ;)

Ive just found out that an onboard graphics frees them up more too. Ive clocked mine stock vol to 930 core/300 mem and getting 389mhash/sec of each. Recon i could try volt up a bit to try hit the 400 mhash :D ???? Temps at 80 and 74 on the other. Stock collers. Impressed

I love this though too. Aint been able overclock for ages, no reason.This gives me a reason to play :)

Them graphs tell me all the more reason to kit out some power houses. As it will be harder for people with less power to be worth while so more work for me. And, the risk part, the value of bit coins goes through the roof. Drive it into the black market and people will pay triple.... Quadruple...... Open source software, Gotta love it :)
