<£40 headphones

They arrived today, not as comfy as my old ones but im sure theyll get a lot better. Sounds seems great, cant complain about it though ive no idea if they are actually good they sound it to me so im happy. Seems like a bargain imo. Thanks for the advice

Mine arrived today as well. I have to admit, first impressions are mixed. Vocals are lot better than my trust KSC75s... but...

The bass lacks any sort of punch whatsoever. When I'm listening to bass guitars, they sound distant and weak. I don't think I'm a "bass head" - I like to hear every detail in the music - but I want my bass to be meaty and with a lot of impact. The JVCs do not deliver that at all.

They may end up going back :(

I have a set of RX700s. They're decent for the money but they do lack responsiveness in the bass department compared to my NS1000s.

To be quite honest I think they get rather over-rated on Head-Fi. Don't forget that when all the fuss started they were selling for US$24. That was a huge bargain.

Mixed opinions then. They are supposed to get better with use according to others. Also, I think I read the RX900's have better bass than the RX700's.

I just myself a pair of JVC RX 700's for just under £31.

First impressions are good. They seem much better for movies with Dolby Headphone than my Goldring DR150's were. Much more bass. There's more 'thud' when watching action movies in particular.

For music, at the moment, the DR150's were better. I say 'at the moment' because I have yet to burn them in or do any of the mods. I am also currently using on board sound compared to a Xonar DG when I had the Dr150's.

For £31, they're amazing value.
