£400 for parts

Hi all was wondering if someone could help me out.

Looking to upgrade and need a PSU, Motherboard, Hard drive, Graphics Card and Processor

I already have my ram, optical drive and case.

I have £400 to spend and was looking at the Asus P5Q Pro Turbo Intel P45 motherboard and the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 LGA775 'Yorkfield' processor.

What do you guys think, also any recommendations on the graphics card, psu and hard drive would be awesome.

Do the Intel chips not perform better than the AMD?

At that price range AMD is better. You can get a great AMD tri core for the same price as a decent Intel dual core, in games the tri-core performs better. Also, the decent motherboards are cheaper for AMD.

But tbh, depends on what you want to use the pc for?

Could always swap out the 4870 for a lower end card and go for a quad core depending on your needs.

I'll be using it for gaming and would like the quad core mentioned above just need a good hard drive and graphics card and to know if anyone else knows if this motherboard and processor are a good match.
