Looking to play the new Star Wars game at 2k ultra settings.

I've now switched to an Intel set up.

245k Ultra
32 DDR5 6000 CL30
1000w Corsair PSU
5060ti 8gb MSI

Worried about V ram limit on 8gb.

Got the option for £550 to buy a 4070 Super 12GB in White (matches system perfectly).

Is that worth it or not?

Thanks.

Often sites like TPU and some YouTubers will do performance reviews on new popular games where they measure the VRAM usage. You can also just look at regular gameplay footage where they have afterburner (or other overlay enabled).

What I'm getting at, is that I'd wait before spending your money. Best case: it fits in the VRAM, worse case: maybe you'll just have to make some acceptable visual compromises.

My peasant self only had the vanilla 4070. :(
Tbf the 4070 has been the most "fine wine" card I've ever owned.
I bought mine near release and we've had:
DLSS 3.5, 4 and 4.5 all of which have improved IQ/performance.
Ray Reconstruction
Smooth Motion
Plus modders have added exclusive 50 series features in MFG and DLSS 5.
Feels like a different card to when I bought it.

Edit: Forgot RTX HDR and VSR were added since too!

It's not a bad card, but it was a touch limiting for me in one or two ways, particularly certain games I wanted to run at 4K while sat on the couch with my nice big TV.

That said, were it not for my getting a damn good deal on a 5070ti from a friend (£450) I'd probably have kept it.

Yeah agree that it's not the greatest but it's a much more capable card than at launch. I'd ditch in a heartbeat for a £450 5070ti tho!
