If you use a custom or modded cable they may not like it if you tell them that in the event of a warranty claim. But if you use a power cable provided to you from your PSU manufacturer (a normal thing to do) it will have likely met an industry standard and shouldn’t matter too much.

Nice one thank you. I've just looked and they don't sadly only for the RTX3000 series so guess I'll wait

It will not melt your connector because in compare to the adapter it will properly connect any you can't force it out so easily

I run mine with a 700 watt supply at 4k no problem but will upgrade to a 1000w soon as it's not worth the risk I guess in damaging the card of the PSU ‍♂️
