Do we think they will drop the price on the 4080, maybe when a Ti launches? It looks like a good card but it’s very overpriced. Would be up for buying one if the dropped it to 899 or 999.

It's already just about, if you find a good offer, dropped past the £999 (equivalent) mark in the US and Australia, even accounting for VAT. The UK surely can't be *that* far behind ...

FE is available for £1199 (not sure if that was always the price). OcUK have a couple of cards for £1099, both available now and pre-order.

I was about to pull the trigger on a £1100 7900XTX for my SFF build but now this has completely thrown me off.

Yep,its quite clear these newer generation Nvidia/AMD cards are not selling as well as PCMR thinks. So if people wait a bit they can get some better deals.

The 4080 FE has a beautiful design. Worth the extra £100 over AIB cards though? Doubt.

I am tempted though

I've had the FE in the basket a few times but held strong. If it drops to £800-900 I'll buy one, but £1200 is an utter joke.
Can't recall a generation going below msrp so quickly after release, but even the ones priced below it here are still a p!$$ take, so I may just skip this gen.

It means he's been spending too much time browsing WallStreet Bets researching the latest meme stocks and EFT's!

It means Hold as in hold you current position and don't trade the stock your quoting

NVIDIA do not have a history of dropping prices. They normally wait until the next generation and make their changes then. The only thing is that we have no idea what they are thinking so it's impossible to predict what they will do next.

like they did with last gens...still waiting, prices are still nuts. it is only the used market that is seeing the correct prices imo and these should be where the new prices should be.

I really don't know what to expect with the 5000 series. Will NVIDIA stick it out and keep the prices high? With the 4070 they are cutting production rather than reduce prices. And they show no sign of giving us better products. They are still building in obvious obsolescence. I see no signs that they are giving way.
