4080 price drop?

So yes, given the spec to price to real world perf difference, it is good value for the performance on offer. It is better value than any of the other 40 series cards too relative to their respective price to performance ratio.
Being better value than the 3090ti and being good value are too entirely different things

I don't think any of today's cards from AMD or Nvidia are of good value, there is only value against the relative performance, even if that value is poor value, it's still a performance uplift that's quite sizeable.

I don't think any GPU has been good value since the 30 series top ends launched.

Against the 4080, yes sure, but the 4080 doesn't align with the pricing of what the 3080 was, so relative to the performance vs value again, it's much poorer value than the performance difference between the 3090 price to performance vs the 4090 price to performance.

As an example going from a 3080 Ti to a 4080 for me would have been a poor upgrade.. The relative uplift is smaller compared to the gigantic uplift with the 4090 instead.
