Hi,
Hoping someone here can help me with this problem. I got the 4090, previously having the 6800XT, on boot, my monitor has no signal. However I can hear windows boot up, and pretty sure I can log in too.
Here's what I've done

Hoping someone here can help me with this problem. I got the 4090, previously having the 6800XT, on boot, my monitor has no signal. However I can hear windows boot up, and pretty sure I can log in too.
Here's what I've done
- Downloaded the latest nvidia drivers (not installed)
- I used DDU to remove the AMD Drivers, selecting the option for a new GPU install, so it turned off my pc afterwards
- Connected the 12VHPWR PSU Cable to my PSU (Corsair HX1000)
- Plugged in the 4090 and then plugged the other end of the PSU cable into it
- Connect display port cable from my monitor to the 4090
- Turned on my pc
- The 4090 lights up and fans spin
- Monitor stays blank while I hear the Windows boot sound
- I can boot into BIOS (when using HDMI but still not seeing anyhting outside of bios)
- Just left the pc on for at least 10minutes
- Read on Reddit, user just left it on for 4 minutes and they suddently had image, something about drivers automatically install in the background)
- Removed the 4090 and put my 6800XT back in
- worked with no problems apart from the weird resolution due to removing the AMD drivers
- Used the 12VHPWR cable that came with the card
- Plugging the 12VHPWR PCIE end into a different slot on the PSU
- Used HDMI cable
- Updating to the latest mobo bios
- Repeated the above install steps but from safe mode (and selecte the option to prevent windows from auto downloading updates)
Update
Issue resolved
- Swapped DP cable to HDMI, I noticed I could only get into BIOS with HDMI cable
- Disabled CSM
- If you have an integrated gpu or secondary gpu available, you can use Nvidia GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool which seems to address blank screens for the 40 series. I had to pick one of the workarounds
- "Change boot mode from UEFI to Legacy/CSM"
- On my mobo CSM was already enabled, so I tried disabling it and this worked.

- Used the firmware update tool on the 4090 and installed nvidia drivers
- Swapped out my cable for Display Port
- Re-enabled CSM in BIOS
