Hi, I can't get the side of the case on with the supplied power adaptor. I know right angle ones exist, but read some heat/burning issues. Is there one that won't burn my house down?

Not aware of any that are known to be safe, but Seasonic do one (for their PSUs) and I'd hope they know what they're doing.

I think you want to be looking at a 12V-2x6 adaptor - which has additional tolerances - not 12VHPWR. Corsair sell a right angle if that is your PSU vendor.

Ah, never thought to check Corsair (I have an AX1000), just ordered one of their cables with it built in. Thanks.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I'm looking for something similar soon, but I'm not sure what will work for my rig.

I won't link the actual thing but will something like this Seasonic below work with my Superflower 1000W PSU? - it's about 8 years old now and is solid as a rock but I have no idea if it supports x1 600w cable like this???

Seasonic 90 degree 12V-2x6 adapter cable, ATX 3.0, PCIe 5.0 - black

Probably not a good idea to mix different manufacturers cables to be honest. After 8 years you might be better off getting a new PSU.

I had a Seasonic 1200w PSU that was 11 years old and it got replaced with an NZXT C1500 Platinum

Not changing it. Superflower 1000w Platinum was the king of PSUs back then and very expensive, and it's still solid as a rock and quiet as a mouse.

There's got to be some sort of right angled adapter that's ok by now, surely???

Something like this no good?

Also, the "Akasa G-Nexus P16 Plus" looks good. Akasa is a decent brand isn't it?

If you say so.

I paid £154.99 from OCUK in 2014 for: SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1200W Fully Modular "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply - White

I didn't trust it to run an Nvidia 5090, 11 years on.

so not only do you like wasting money on a psu that would have been fine he also didnt mention a 5090 it could be any nvidia card since 4000 series

I'm not interested in willy waving about power supplies. The one I have is perfectly up to the task of running a 5080. If I was getting a 5090 I might think about it.

Just *might* need some sort of right angle adapter, or a direct angled cable that has x3 8-pin connectors that will fit into older PSU's would be better - Seems they exist and get good reviews. For anyone interested look up "Linkup" cables...

Unless you can verify the pinout of the PSU I think that's a no go, because I believe Seasonic's adapter plugs into the modular panel of the PSU, so it is not a universal extension.

Normally I'd trust Akasa, but a £1000-£2000 GPU on a £20 adapter? Not sure about that one. If CableMod can't make the adapter successfully, I don't know if Kolink and Akasa are going to be much better at it, unless they learned lessons from the problems.

It's not easy this **** is it. Thanks bud

Seems like this below would be the best bet possibly, but they don't seem to do one with a right angle at the 16 pin end. So this is just basically a longer version of the x3 8 pin to 16pin adapter that will come with any 5080 GPU, yes?

It was their adapters that were recalled and I don't know if they tried again.
