40d - Remote Shutter

Hey Guys,

I've recently acquired a 40d , but the remote trigger i previously used with the 350d won't work, It works fully with the 350d when plugged into it, but when i switch the cable over for the 3-pin 40d Cable, It lights up the same, but the camera does nothing, as if it doesnt register.

Is this enabled in a menu somewhere? (Still getting to grips with it) or do you think it's a faulty cable or (hopefully not) a faulty remote port?

Any advice appreciated!

No option to enable or disable the remote release. If it is a compatible trigger it should just work when plugged in.

It's listed as being such, Damn, now gotta figure out whether it's the cable or the camera that has the fault >.<

Does it make any difference if you set the drive mode to self-timer?

Just tried that, doesn't change anything...

Might see if I can get the supplier to post a new lead and see if it is that... Hope it's not the port!
