ok this is about the 3rd post about overclocking my processor.

about 4 weeks ago i posted that my processor wouldnt overclock at all after hitting 1.6v at 2.94ghz.

iv now got my cpu at 2.3ghz on stock volts, (1.35)

and im using orthos beta to test. its now done 23mins and its fine.

i was wondering if theres any amd 4400x2 users out there who would post your overclocks so i can get a idea of what speeds i should use that are safe that wouldnt make my system go boom. thanks :)

allso my specs are in my sig

well at that speed it ran the test for 4 mins if i remember correctly, one core was 43c and the other was 57c after 1 min, which is a big difference, i could tell streight away there was somthing wrong.

and after 4 full mins they was at 46c 57c

no no.

it did refuse to overclock. but now it seems to be fine, iv just clocked it up 100mhz the core, and its stable,

i was just wondering if any 4400x2 users would post there overclock speeds etc, so i can get a idea of what settings to use.

cause i dont want it to give up overclocking again :P

thanks

275 * 11 = 3.03ghz at 1.575 vcore on water

temps full load both cores from 36-39c depending on ambient

ram is at .9 multiplier so about 248mhz...basically all settings are in my sig.
...

kinda waiting for that ocz phase thing to come out so i can see what it can do on phase...but it's more reasonable to just get a conroe with that money :(

With my old 4400 I was running 247FSB, 11x Multi, 1.35V (2717MHz). That was the max that was stable at stock volts and I ran that 24/7. After that I had to up the voltage huge amounts to be able to get it to 2.9GHz. I think at 1.65V I could get it to at 2.9GHz, but I found the extra heat produced compared with the small speed increase wasn't worth it so I just ran at 2.7GHz.

Can't seem to find any screenshots from my 4400... Can only find them for my 4200.. Otherwise I would have posted some!

Here are a couple from my 4200, couldn't find any others from it..

For some reason CPUZ has trouble with the DFI 180MHz divider on those screenshots and shows it as lower than it is.

That was about the best I could manage day to day with my 4200, I found that my 4400 clocked slightly better, only needing stock volts to reach 2.75GHz whereas my 4200 would need about 1.45V.

i got mine up at 2.83mhz 1.45v 45deg on the stock cooler. its the last of the 939 toledo cores with 1+1 cache and 89w.

picked it up for a song when amd decided to discontinue them and blow em all out.

Got mine running at 2.6ghz on air...I believe its 11 x 236 or something...Anything above that Core one fails prime.

Dont notice much difference tho...Especially in games lol, or oblivion i should say :P

thanks.

mines at 2.5ghz now at 1.41v, idle is 24-29c (the core)

and full load 50-60c. when i get a better cooling im going to higher the speed more.

thanks all :)

I don't know how people manage to get them clocked so high at stock volts. :(

the early versions of them were terrible clockers and ran at 110w while the last of 939's were 89w. that seems to make a huge difference

btw my 3.03 used to be on 1.625 vcore with my Antec Smartpower 500w but I was really stressing it and now I can get 3.03ghz @ 1.575 stable with my thermaltake 750w??? didn't think a psu made that much of a difference.

Gurusan, which G.Skill kit have you got, ZX or HZ & what volts are you putting through it?
