£450 Gaming PC

Hello,
My brother wants me to build him a Pc for his birthday, and he has a max budget of £450 possibly stretch to £500 if it is 50£ better performance.
He will use the PC for gaming on a 26” Samsung TV with a resolution of 720p. He only needs the tower (he already has a decent HDD, so he doesn’t need a new one) and a wireless mouse and keyboard bundle.

tried to stick as close to 450 as possible even got your keyboard mouse combo in there too. however if you can stretch would recommend upgrading to 4850, or wait go for new 4770

allrite, so 4gigs of ram, a 450 maybe 500w psu will be more than he'll ever need so no point going higher than that.
mouse +kb is a matter of preferences more or less.
I'd get a decent lga775 mobo with no sli, and e7400 and for the rest depending on the budget a 4850, 4870 or even gtx 260.

the e7400 will overclock quite nicely (i've got a e7200 runing passively at 3.5 without a problem) and you'll have a nice balanced system.

As the system will be running on a 720p TV (1366×768), the resolution is pretty low - so I would recommend not going over £100 on the graphics card. Use the money saved to get some nice and comfy input devices.

Would go for Widdyst spec, but with a 4850 (Sorry I'm a fanboy) and 4GB of DDR3 not 2GB

Agreed if you could stretch another £20 get 4 gig of that ram as its at a ridiculous price that. And really the with graphics card choice there is hardly anything in it performance wise between 4850 and 250gts so choose your allegiance
