£450 HD TV

Right I'm looking for a new TV I have cable so there is not a desperate need for built in free view.

Spec's
1080p
42 or 40 inch
£450 give or take.

What would you recomend?

Wait a little longer and get the TXP46G20 ~ £599 awesome TV with built in Freeview HD and Freesat HD

What is the use going to be? Gaming? Movies? TV - percentages?

Is a deep black and a true colour representation important to you?

I've always been a fan of Plasma screens because of the deeper blacks and faster response time. Although for that price an LED is interesting

Tv and film only.
Not that important I'm looking for overall picture quality.

Go and look at them in the shop first, and make sure that you can see what settings they have the TV's displaying at too - A lot of the time, with LED tvs they whack the brightness right up to give you a stunning looking picture, then you get it home and it look pants. Also if you watch a lot of sports, plasma is def the way to go.

Have been they had it set on defult 0 and it looked great.

Looks like you're all set then - Full HD LED for £450 - you would have thought that would come by so quickly eh, it was only 2 years ago they were £1500!

Have a read here first though, it may sway you either way...

Samsung.
I've had a 40" LE40B530 (iirc) for over a year and its been great. Think the current version is "C".

I have looked at the Samsung but didn't like it.

I have gone with the LG LED
