£450 limit for cpu ram and mobo

Guys im after an i5 setup good for gaming? and my limit is £450, its for a mate not me so what have you got?


Not sure if i5 or i7 is best, im after value for money and running at stock but will overclock in the future.

Just ram cpu and mother board.

Hes def after max ram and he will be watercooling at some point so retail heatsink is all thast needed for now.

Or why not save £49.99 and get the Foxconn P67A-S 3.0 ?!

Will probs overclock better than the ASRock, and is a very good brand, with pretty much same features (yes lacking SATA 6GB/s and USB3.0, but expansion cards can be bought cheaply when they become mainstream enough to warrant them!)

You can alway buy now and replace the motherboard later (If you can be bothered). You might also want to have a look at the P8P67 standard. Its cheaper and voerclocks just as well as the PRO version
 
I went for the Asrock Extreme4 and it's brilliant so far. Easy overclock, onboard debug led, reset button and power button. Clear CMOS at the back so no need to open the case each time.

I matched that with the OEM 2500k and 8GB Corsair Ram. Came to about £400 in total (not all from OCUK though).
