Too many volts, too much heat, not enough control. It's tailored for every CPU, you want to set your overclock for your individual CPU.
Thanks for the reply String

Would you cause any damage using these pre-set configurations?

So if you keep the temperature down it would be safe to use?

When it comes to Overclocking I'm classed as an "Extreme Noob"! lol
Ok, I've only made the following changes the UEFI.
Multiplier to 43
Core voltage to 1.25V
XMP Profile 1
And that's it.
Benchmark with IntelBurn, passed without problems.
Few hours gaming on BF4 then I get BSOD error 124....not enough vcore
Do I need to change anything else? or just increase the vcore until it gets stable?
EDIT: Also, my Bus Speed always shows 99.98Mhz in CPU-Z, is that right?
Thanks for any replies
System:
Intel Core i5 4670K 3.40GHz Socket 1150 6MB Cache
Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP Socket 1150 HDMI DVI ATX Motherboard
DDR3, 1600MHz 16GB 2x240 Dimm, Unbuffered, 9-9-9-24, Vengeance Pro Gold
Thermaltake 675W Toughpower XT Modular PSU
Doesn't BF4 BSOD on stable systems?
What is your uncore set at?
Do you have Intel turbo enabled?
What is your LLC set at?

Well, it's not the most stable game to play on, but it's the first time it blue screened with 124 error.
Everything else is set to Auto.
Thanks String![]()
Set:
Uncore: 36
Intel turbo : Disabled
LLC : Extreme

What temps are you getting, and what cooling are you using?

Edit to add, here's a good article / guide for you to read.

Okie, will try when I get home tonight
Just to make sure, Uncore is CPU Ring Voltage, right?
70c-75c on all cores under stress testing
Using NH-U14S Ultra-Quiet Slim CPU Cooler with NF-A15 Fan
Thanks for the link, I've being reading it and trying to get my head around it...slowly! lol![]()

Got it nice and stable running 4.2Ghz. vcore 1.21v
Uncore: 34
Intel turbo : Auto
LLC : Extreme
An evening of stress testing and it was 100% stable.
Temperatures 70c under stress, 50c under load.
Think i'll leave it at that for the time being, see how it goes.
Thanks for your help String![]()

I just noticed you asked if uncore was cpu ring voltage, obviously you realised that it isn't!?
As I say, with those temps and cooling with air, I don't think you want to shoot any higher than 4.2.
Learning curve for me this...Might I ask what batch number your CPU was?
