It depends on what you are doing with the system. i.e A system might be bottlenecked by the cpu at 1080p gaming but moving to 4K would take a huge load off the cpu. If you look at 4K gaming benchmarks a lot of slower cpu's will match faster ones etc.

Also that website says an 8700K needs at least 32GB Ram to run properly. That shows you how terrible it is. I wouldn't give it a 2nd look.

To be fair, I got that link off someone on here. :p You're right though. On further playing around it says my 8700k is 100% bottlenecked and I need a 2080Ti or at a push a 1080Ti. Which is great, except I don't game and am happy with the iGPU... Interestingly, it suggests a RX380 (my previous gfx) is a huge bottleneck, and I should swap to a Vega 64 instead. So I redid the calculation with one of those, and the result was a huge bottleneck, with the suggestion to 'swap Vega 64 for a Vega 64'... :o

It would need to go into far more detail for it to be a worthwhile website. It doesn't ask what the system is being used for which is the biggest problem. i.e A 9900K and GTX 1050 ti isn't a well balanced system for gaming, but it would be perfectly fine for applications where a strong gpu isn't important.
