£470 to spend..

8800gtx wont get to ultra speeds without pencil mods and bios flashes, all of which void warranty. and ultra is a better core.

id get a evga ultra superclocked ;)

Are you sure? Standard ultra has only 612/1500/2160 clocks. I've seen gtx's get that easily (there are a quite a few in the 3dmark06 toplist in this forum).

But i would agree that an ultra would overclock far beyond a gtx.
 
470 pounds,

i had 540 pounds to spend on "graphics" befor i got my HD 2900 XT.

I was getting a ultra a few weeks befor the 2900, and i thaught, is it really worth 528 pounds for a overclocked ugly looking GTX?

anyway.. i waited a week or so, and got a 2900XT and i dont regret one bit of it, cheap cheerfull and its somthing new and a nice change from the boring nvidia drivers etc :)

but if you want a monster beast supercharged nitro l33t thing, then wait for the G92 which is 1teraflop so they say, (3x faster than the g80)
