4770 with 4870 crossfire?

Sorry but you are just flat out wrong. Really, I bet a 4GHz wolfdale and 4870 CF system would pull 300-350W max

I told you I had an E8400 @ 4.5GHz and it never even got above 75W....and that was with IBT which draws a lot more current than gaming.

Well Will there you go, the experts reckon you will be fine with 520 watts, my conscience is clear. :p

You mean those who have actually run more demanding systems on lower rated supplies of equal quality while monitoring actual power consumption?

Those people?

Well tbh Raven, they've done the tests, where is your proof? You're just being sarcy saying my PC is gonna go bang.......

Everyones system is different, there is no 100% certainty that your system will be 100% stable under max load, anyway I really don't think 512mb cards are capable of playing the most demanding games at high IQ, xfire is a waste with 512mb IMO.

I have to think carefully here cause I know allot of people do over estimate and you see em running systems like mine on 850W PSU's

you can get 850w psu's for under 30 quid, you just got to work out if those guys are running quality stuff or just going for the numbers. if they just gone for the numbers then steer clear of thier advice.

Yeah my 160 watt is a basic system load with the CPU fully utilized.

Doesn't really look like it from the below quote. Saying "it all adds up" means you were not including the other components. Nice try back-pedalling out of that one though. Is it so difficult to admit you were giving out WRONG advice?

4.2Ghz 8400 pulls 160 watt at 1,4v, all adds up, better playing safe than sorry.
