Slight differences in base clock too. Could be the reason Asus needed more volts maybe?

Either way I hope those are safe volts and are indicative of what haswell can do!

Unfortunately it is an ES sample, the normal 4770k CPUs are not so good at overclocking.

Yeah lol, anyone can just crank up a CPU to 5GHz and take a screenshot but it's irrelevant if it's not stable.

So what kind of relative performance are we to expect?

whats Haswell faster than and what sort of improvement is it? I assume their are benchmarks floating around?

Have just watched TTL's G1 Sniper M5 video, he mentioned 4.8GHz takes it to about 100'c full load on a H100i at 1.26v.

Ouch!

Makes me wonder why they want to make CPUs smaller, when surely it'll be harder to dissipate heat out of a smaller area?

Looks easier to overclock, but comes out warmer than a summers day out in the desert.

Seems to be around 5-10% improvement over Ivy bridge clock for clock in most cases.

Overclocking seems to be at a similar level to Ivy, with speeds of 4.5Ghz to 4.7Ghz attainable. The chip seems to be very leaky at high clockspeeds - going above ~4.5Ghz shows very high temperatures and power draw. There seems to be a fairly large variation between chips...

God damn, im getting worried about these temps now, anything over 4.4Ghz and your looking at stupid temps even with probably the best all in one/retail cooler the h100i....and lets be fair here in the UK its not exactly hot at the moment, so whats these temps going to be like on a 25c+ day???

Im starting to think that im not going to push mine about 4.4 just so the temps are reasonable, atm i have a i7 920 (bloomfield) @ 4Ghz, from what ive seen even at lower clock speed the Haswell is faster than ivy on a faster clock speed, so i guess i can times that by 4 for my bloomfield chip right??

I hope my Mount Doom cooler can handle this chip!

I'm in Scotland, what does a 25c day feel like?
I'm hoping that even an average overclocker Haswell will leave my [email protected] standing; It's also time for usb3 and sata3.

Yeah im in the south east and trying to remember as well atm :confused:

The Haswell will **** all over your i7 920 if its only (i say only) 3.5Ghz, reports suggest double performance boost, even at stock clocks the Haswell should be faster than my 920 @4Ghz!!!
