Is there a 4770k overclocking guide for retards knocking about? Maybe on an MSI board with screenies?

Im lost trying to oc my chip, im confused with all the new bits and bobs compared to my old 2600k

The best way to do this is aim for 4.4 - 4.5 first.
Go 44 multi
Vcore 1.25
Cache 1.15
LLC top available.
DDR at XMP
DDR volts 1.65v
SA 1.15 or + 0.15 offset
IOD 1.15 or + 0.2 offset
IOA 1.15 or + 0.2 offset

test..... use as you would normally no silicon torture nonsense.

Then go up to 46 multi and test maybe adding a touch of Vcore top Vcore being around 1.3v

Next work on Uncore ratio. Try 42 first then 43 etc etc using Cache Volts to stabalise.

Any questions post back.....

Hey thanks for the update, i cant find LLC in my asus formula z87 bios, is it the initial cpu input voltage? i can only change the amount of voltage on it there isnt an option to set it to extreme etc

Edit: nvm i found it, its in extreme tweaker and Digi power control, im guessing i should be using level 8?

I currently have a 4.4ghz overclock using 8 packs settings from this thread. But after applying my overclock my pc boots up, shuts down after two seconds and then immediatly boot up again this time fine. i tested it on battlefield 4 for an hour and no crash. is this fine or a sign of unstable?

I remember this happening on my p6t dlx v2 a few times, (1/20) boots. Cpu was at 4.2ghz, qpi volts at 1.35 iirc. After the second boot it went into os fine, played games, encoded hd video for hours on end. I know on some asus boards, if you turn power off at the wall plug to go inside your case, they will do the double boot thing. I asked on the asus forum years ago about this, was told its normal. Was a strap setting and mem check thing, as on s775 you used fsb-mem straps when doing front side bus overclocking.

got my i7 470k with asus formula vi board at 4.4 with 1.265v stable with the 8 pack settings.

But wondered is it normal for the voltage to be constant 1.265v even when the system is on idle? and is it safe for 24/7 use?
