4790k overclock

Hey lads, just built a pc for someone with a 4790k, he want's an overclock at 4.5ghz. How achievable is this with that CPU and are there any settings I can try.

Pretty easy tbh, 4.7ghz is more or less standard on most 4790k's I've seen on here. Both of mine hit this without any issue. Which board and ram btw?

Its very achievable, its stock speed is 4.4ghz so you wouldnt even have to adjust the voltage, just switching the multi to x45 would do it.

Just make sure the board is on the latest bios. Early versions overvolt quite a lot. Stock turbo is 4.4ghz on one core.

Ahh I didnt know it turbo's to 4.4ghz. I won't mess with the overclock then. Cheers lads.

I have the same CPU and I dont use any OC with it....so just let it boost to 4.4 while on BF4
