4790K too hot ?

OK I was on BF4 a little while ago and yesterday Assetto Corsa, my CPU was getting very close to 80c ( 78c )..is that OK ?

Also idle temps right now are around 36-38c , with no OC .

Well the weather is hot... Do you know what your typical temperatures are?

The 4790k is a reasonably hot CPU though.

Well I think it sits around 65c under load in general , but as you say it has been a tad warm of late

Wouldn't say 13 degrees hotter than normal though. Maybe just a combination of weather and needing to dust the PC out/renew thermal paste?

Yeah I think it's probably down to the heat wave we are having, but fingers crossed that breaks soon lol

Yep deffo the weather, room temps will be up around 10-15c so add that into your CPU temp. As long as its safe and not in the 80-100c I would not worry
