48 Processes

38 with Winamp, Thunderbird, Firefox and WLM running. I can make it 36 by ending the ruddy PerfectDisk processes.

I have some processes running for my Bluetooth dongle. Might be a good time to check all the processes running again and sort them out. Could be doing an nLited install over the weekend.

Plus I do have 2Gb RAM so its not as bad as it could be.
Did a bit of work last night on processes that weren't needed such as the Creative ones. Managed to get rid of one or two Bluetooth tray apps and tweaked the services a bit as well. Now 28 processes running, down from 36. This is with Winamp, Thunderbird, Firefox and WLM running as last night.:)

Ah right so I spose most of those 70 have to be running all the time to allow the apps to work properly then?

I could probably stop most of them and enable them when needed but its a pain.

I've got things like: VMWare, apache, php, mysql, vpn software, remote administration software.

My laptop still runs fine, most of the processes take up very little memory.

@MarcLister Yes it would have been nice , but ,I've been caught out before on forums [and I'm a member of many] giving out live links and facing a ban . So , I dont bother now . Using Google usually brings results.

Right OK. And what was so bad about this link that you couldn't post it? I mean well done for thinking about whether a link is suitable but unless I've forgotten something about the program I can't see what would have been unsuitable about posting it.

22 on my laptop with nothing open. 40 on my desk but it is running x64

My cousin own a dell and he has over 70 at startup
