480 vs 480 soc

infact scrap that looks like your PSU has a bit of a odd arrangement if its the Type-m Looks like they have actually split the two rails meaning the two PCI express connectors are on a 20amp rail of there own that will not be enough for a 480 look here

Hijack warning,

Firstly, Chaotic - What program are you using for that mate? :)

Secondly, opinions on whether my Hiper 580w PSU power a 480 GTX SOC with the following setup:

i5 2500K
RAM 8gb
Motherboard
2 Hard drives
1 Optical Drive

I think I know my answer already really :)

open hardware monitor it is called , will look for the link

edit : http://openhardwaremonitor.org/

running a hyper psu i would not even try to run a gtx480 tbh , i had a 580w type-r take out a 8800gts 320 a few year back

you could get away with a £50 power supply this one

How ever if your going to get a New decent PSU i would suggest this one £65

the 550W one can supply 53Amps on the 12v rail Before people tell you that is not enough 53Amps is Plenty and its a decent power supply

But of course there is no harm in future proofing yourself, Any of the XFX Range will do you fine apart from the 450W

XFX range found Here

So glad I went with the stock Asus 480 GTX and not the SOC. It's not as loud as everyone makes out at all. The temps have never been over 78c when playing games like Crysis 2 and Bad Company 2 for hours. :)
