4870 Bios flash

Got a question for anyone who has flashed their 4870.

I had one 4870 and it's running the Asus bios, higher clocks and a "fixed" fan profile. I now have a 2nd Sapphire 4870 and want to flash the same bios to it. What's the easiest and best way of doing this?

Easiest way of doing it is probably through the Windows flash, but that's not recommended tbh.

I'm super lazy and used the windows flasher, it said it had flashd my card ok but then the system froze, queue me having a brown pants moment till I reset the system and all was fine and the new bios was on.

But yea windows flashing is pretty risky way to do it.

Is is still risky in Windows if using Crossfire though? Surely I could disable crossfire and then flash it?

I've flashed loads of cards in windows with no issues, never done it on an SLI setup though. Techpowerup have a tool for extracting, modifying and flashing your own BIOS, i wouldn't recommend using the asus bios on the sapphire card just in case, I'd personally dump the BIOS from the sapphire card, amend the clocks and fan profile to match those on the asus card then flash it back on there.

Although if you were dead set on flashing the asus bios you could just dump the bios from the asus card and force flash it to the sapphire card

Sorry should have made it more clear, they are both Sapphire cards so the Asus bios will work fine on the new one. Just want the easiest way of "copying" the bios from one to the other really.

I think this is the all in one BIOS dumper/editor/flasher i was talking about, at work right now so can't check for you, should be as simple as grabbing the BIOS from the already flashed card and flashing it onto the new one
