4870 cheap as chips????

How many posts do i have to have to see Members Market? Years ago i could get on there, dropped out of gaming, came back to find i can't get on there anymore :(

It's not surprising, I've been pricing up a Core i7 system (CPU/Mobo/Mem) which costs £*** delivered from a competitor, the same items on OCUK cost £729 and that's with one item on this week only.

If I'm being honest, I would look at the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 and Xilence Red Wing 120MM fan, I had the Vortexx Neo on my 4850 for quite a while and whilst it did knock plenty of degrees off my idle and load temps it had to do so with the fan at full speed, which on mine caused a very distinctive humm which annoyed the hell out of me.

I changed for the S1 and even more degrees have been dropped off idle and load temps, I've yet to see it about 47oc, which considering the vortexx kept it at 40oc idle is awesome. Now just 31oc idle. And is completely silent, if you've got the room for one change it.

i know a lot has happend with the economy etc but back in Jan this year OCUK we're No 1 for cheapness etc but now things have gone full circle!!!

A saving of over £50 was criminal for me not to purchase it.
One thing i will get from OCUK is the Vortexx Neo next payday.

Jan this year? lol, Jan 2006, maybe.

Forum loyalty must make them bundles, I'd be happy to buy from them again when they get competitive.

Just checked ocuk's prices on the 4780x2 aswell, while other places have the Gainward at circa £500 aswell(what the hell are gainward thinking, miniscule overclocks = 35% higher cost? wtf) the other cards can be found insanely cheaper. Yes the economy sucks, and I got my 4870x2 at £330 before the price hikes from our ridiculously badly managed economy, they haven't gone up that much most places.

A bit unfair. Somethings are cheaper, and the free postage has helped a lot, if the free postage disappeared then I wouldnt shop there, no.

What I can't fault OCUK for is the selection of stock, sadly some places are decent on prices but limited with their catalogue. Plus at least I know its going to arrive unlike that place in Bolton. ;)
