4870 - dual monitor query

Does ATI have problems with dual monitor display these days?

I'm very tempted by the 1GB Sapphire 4870 but need it to run a pair of 24" monitors (1920x1200) in 'extended desktop' mode with no problems... I multibox WoW and will be running 1 client on the first monitor and multiple clients on the second monitor.

A bit of googling has thrown up many threads/comments from people having problems with dual monitors but not explaining their issue or seeming to resolve the problems.

Naturally, I'm a bit concerned. Particularly when the bottom comment on the OcUK reviews...

i have that card and a sumsung 20" and my 26" tv connected, no problems in the slightest... the new 9.x drivers should be out soon anyway..

I have a 24" and a 19" using Xfire'd 4870 512mb and all is ok. Get a few crashes every now and then when I close lotro down but hopefully the 9.1's will sort that out.

I also use Ultramon which may or may not help.

On a side note how do you use multi clients with wow, do you mean you have more than one subscription.

I'm running the Powercolor card with a 24" Samsung and a 19" Viewsonic. Not had any problems.

Yup, 5 accounts so I can 5-box
