Ok it seams abit more fitting to put it here,

What clocks have people got and what have you done to get it(ie software bios etc)

Ill start it off but what can I OC my plait Sonic 4870 to safely in the CCC???

also, do I need to flick the little boost switch on the card itself as well as the CCC?

how can I get a bit more out of my carrd but safely?
 
can someone tell me what I should be able to OC mine to...safe limits for a Sonic 4870 512MB card?

it's a Palit version of the card
 
GPU clock - 760
Mem clock - 980

Can go higher but it runs fine for what I do with it. Apart from Crysis (which runs at 35FPS Gamer settings), it destroys everything else.

CCC is fine to OC. Just whack the clocks up by increments of 5mhz and test it extensively. It is my opinion that these cards are so underclocked that it is not even funny.
 
This thread prompted me to play with the settings again,

GPU clock - 820
Mem clock - 1050

Edit: Temp under load - 74c

very nice GPU clock!

mine won't go over 780 without flaking out in ATI tools :/

are you using a 3rd party cooler? tempted to remove the accellero S1 from my old 9600GT and whack it on my 4870, as it loads at 84C :(
 
mine wont go above 1005 mem speed without gettin artifacts. Have only gone to 790 in ccc as havnt botherd using any other products. What fan speed you using regulus?
 
I've got the Gigabyte HD4870 512 and just did a 20 minute 'scan for artifacts' ATI Tools using RivaTuner @ 820 Core, 1100 Mem. GPU is at 64'c with fan set to 47%. No errors :D

I think the limit on the core is 830, not really sure what the limit on the memory is though, I get single minor errors in ATI Tool after 5 minutes @ 1150.

lucky bar steward. I have exactly the same card, and get artifacts with the GPU >780 :(

Mine also loads hotter than yours! Think I'll definately change the cooler when I get home!
 
I get artifacts at 1100 and I'm also not seeing much of a FPS difference from stock to OC. Perhaps 5 FPS max. It's only that damn Crysis piece of software that makes this card work. It truly wipes the floor with every other game out there.
