4870 only one gpu working..

Hi... i sold a 4870x2 card on e bay -_- and now he says sonly one gpu is working!! (it was working fine when i had it) this is what he says..

Hi! your card arrived yesterday and i have started installation and I can't make it run at two GPUs.Card run ok in 2D but is not working on 3D (screen freezes).I have instaled latest catalyst driver 9.12(I have tried from 8.10 and up and still the same).I have got windows 7 ,64 bit,750W thermaltake psu,phenome 9850,4 GB memory,gigabyte MA790X-DS4.I 've instaled 4 new games and I couldnt run them.Before I was useing one card 4870 Toxic 512mb and everything was working fine.
Any ideas why your card is not working?Please let me know.I know that you are good seller,so I don't believe think that card is faulty.

As I can see You have no time to anser me ...I just want to let you know that card is faulty(i can see you did try to open it or fix it,because there are big signs of screw driver on the screws).I have checked on three computers which are compatibile with that card and it is working only on one core.So in is not in a full working order.I am realy dissapointed.
Please let me know how would you like to resolve that problem.I am waiting for an anser till saturday.



i have NOT tryed to open it -_- and i didnt notice i had a message from him first.
Any one know a way you can make the 2nd run?
 
h,, well he says its 750w PSU :( and i only had a 700w psu lol hmm i have a bad feeling he just didnt like the card tbh -_- it worked 100% fine when i sent it! and packeed it up with LOADS of padding.
 
he dont sound too happy tbh -_- i dont think hes willing too. thats why i posted a question on here. he sounds like he knows what hes on about this was his last reply.

The Radeon 4870 X2 video card has a special version of internal CrossFireX technology. Essentially, the second core in the video card activates by itself as needed (i.e. during high-end gaming or video graphics design, etc.) and there are no user adjustments that can be done to activate or deactivate it.

i know there was nothing wrong with the card when i sent it, i was running games like crysis at 34-40fps (like most other 4870x2 benchmarks) .. i just hope it aint faulty-_- lol
 
im pretty sure i did! (i normally do on new hardware) where would i have to go to find out?:( it was sapphire 4870x2)
 
well i sent him a message and said "thanks for your patience and understanding, once i recive the card, test it, check serials etc ill send you a full refund ASAP." hopeflly he will get scared off >< lmao.. im sure he aint tho he seems nice enough and 100% feedback!
 
it also has a very distingusishing.. (bad spelling) mark on it! which i noted in description + i have photos of it! so if the card turns up without the mark on it ill know he swaped it
 
lmfao WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO just checked back at photo's ive taken of the card.. and there was one of the serial lmao (didnt put this on display) :D so i have the serial!!!

I cant remember if the 4870 should have a crossfire tab, I dont believe so from memory, as it was dealt with internally by the card and just shows for quadfire.

If it isn't faulty, don't refund your original postage costs to him, do use eBay returns and do a partial refund through Paypal - that way you'll at least not pay fees on the sale or have to cover the cost of posting a good card out to a dodgy buyer.

Add the caveat in your next advert that buyer needs to ensure their system meets requirements as stated on the Sapphire website & that refunds are only for a card returned within 5 days and found to be faulty.

As you might suspect, I've been burnt before with a 280GTX.....

:D Ty soo much! Ive been looking for a way to put that for AGES!! "Add the caveat in your next advert that buyer needs to ensure their system meets requirements as stated on the Sapphire website & that refunds are only for a card returned within 5 days and found to be faulty" i want to allow returns (as sometimes things do go faultty but wanted to stop the odd person from messing me around -_- thats perfect ty ill use that from now on in my listings :D lol Nah he sounds like a good guy! It is still under warrenty from sapphire (as its 6 months old) So worst comes o the worst ill just have to return it and get a new 4870x2!... :D get a bit mroe for it on e bay ;) lol
