I've been running this card since Christmas, and, although it works perfect in some games, I suffer from terrible performance in others. I'm running the latest catalyst drivers, and, despite this, Empire total War runs at maybe 10 frames per second at both 1920x1200 (my native resolution) and even at 1400x900 (all details maxed, but dropping down doesn't improve performance)

Similarly GTA IV suffers from extremely sluggish performance.

Is the card faulty mate? i too have had terrible peformance and i am sending my card back again and getting money back and will probs buy gainward ati radeon 4870x2 or geforce gtx 295.

I havent seemed to be having any problems with my trifan. I have been gone for a few weeks here playing games. And most games are running max settings at over 60. My motherboard is also a bottleneck since it only runs 4gig ram max at 800mhz and has a 1300fsb

If your board supports pcie 2.0 then that should not bottleneck your card.

I didnt think running ram at 800mhz would bottleneck your peformance.

I got my card off ebay lol but i got it with warranty and sending it back for replacement 2 of the fans have now stopped working.

Asus best give me a replacement card.

QX9650 o/c to 4.0Ghz
8GB good quality DDR2 running at 1:1 with my FSB.

Something is wrong then. Empire on my setup (in sig) runs on Ultra with no slow downs. Your setup is similar and I doubt the 4870X2 is the problem. If it were me I would do a fresh system install with all of the latest drivers.
